Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@LEEn@ GOHmez was born July 22, 1992. She is an American actor, singer and producer. Gomez began her acting career in 2002 in the children's TV series Barney & Friends. Her fame grew as Alex Russo, a teenage character on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). In addition to her TV career, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019) in which she voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez was the executive producer of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. She also serves as executive producer and stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez has received praise from critics for the series in addition to nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. She has been honored with numerous accolades, such as being named Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2017. In 2017, she also set 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential persons globally in 2020. Her social media followers are large and she is the most talked about actress and performer on Instagram.
